In this interview, find out more about Hestia Agora (Skane, Sweden) & Inlisol (Southwest, Finland), who will be responding to the challenge of preventing falls of older adults with their project “Accelerated preventive elderly care and increased quality of life”.
To begin with, could you tell us about the activity and the purpose of your companies Hestia Agora and Inlisol?
Hestia Agora focuses on developing the well-being of older people through subjective evaluation, while Inlisol uses sensor technology and an intelligent digital platform to monitor well-being and safety.
What attracted you to DIGIT-PRE?
Enabling internationalisation through collaboration with another start-up company and excellent mentors, as well as financial compensation.
Could you describe your common project "Accelerated preventive elderly care and increased quality of life" in a few words?
Our aim is to combine, in an unprecedented way, the data generated and analyzed by sensors with the elderly person’s own self-assessment of their quality of life. In this way, we believe we will improve the ability of care staff to support older people in their daily activities and help them to remain independent and, most importantly, as happy as possible in their own homes for as long as possible.
What challenges have you faced so far when working with a partner from another country?
The cultural differences are not huge, but moving the project forward remotely requires discipline from both teams to stay on schedule and achieve our goals.
Finally, have you already taken part in a European project before? If not, what are your concerns? If so, why do it again?
Inlisol has previously been involved in projects partly funded by the EU and coordinated from Finland. These have been development projects and cannot be directly compared to the Digi-Pre project.
