EU Week of Regions and Cities highlights the DIGIT-PRE project

DIGIT-PRE has been selected as one of the projects highlighted during the EU Week of Regions and Cities, which took place on October 7-10, 2024. Malin Larsson from Innovation Skåne and Project Leader of DIGIT-PRE arranged a workshop in Brussels, during the EU Week of Regions, together with HealthChain led by SIH-EEIG Slovenian Innovation Hub and TicBiomed and InShape led by Cluster Sports and Technology.

“This week provided a valuable opportunity to highlight both DIGIT-PRE and our region, bringing together representatives from regions and innovation actors across Europe. Our focus remains on strengthening interregional collaboration and exploring new pathways and partnerships, with prevention as a key factor in improving public health” says Malin Larsson.

The aim of DIGIT-PRE´s presence in Brussel is to inspire other regions in Europe and show how interregional cooperation can strengthen public health and the ecosystem on which it rests.

“We performed a comprehensive workshop evidencing the importance of working together for a common goal-Prevention as a key vehicle to improve public health. In this case, three i3 projects addressing the same societal issue, but covering three different complementary verticals really showcased the importance of working together and building synergies where possible” says Aldo Vermiglio from Innovation Skåne and Key Account Manager for DIGIT-PRE.

The EU Week of Regions and Cities is the largest annual event in the field of regional policy. During the days, regions and cities showcase their ability to create growth and jobs and since the event was first held, it has developed into a platform that brings together regions and cities from across Europe. The week brings together more than 10,000 participants and each year the program is adapted to the current EU agenda.
